Many price comparison websites use robots to gather pricing information from various vendors. This often leads to inaccurate or outdated prices, or prices for left-over, refurbished, and open-box machines. In addition, you rarely get information on free bundles, rebates, or discounts. As opposed to these sites, we use a real person to update our prices each morning. We visit the reseller's website to see the prices and bundles with our own eyes, and if that fails, we pick up the telephone and give them a call. In fact, we visit over 150 pages each morning to verify stock and prices. As a result, we feel that Mac Prices gives you the most accurate Mac and Apple prices on the web. We typically update prices between 8-9am ET seven days a week, including holidays, with afternoon updates when necessary. If you notice that one of our prices in inaccuate, please email us right away.
Mac Prices is an outgrowth of the Mac PowerBook and iBook price trackers originally started on our sister website, Power'Book Central. These price trackers proved to be the most popular feature of Power'Book Central, and we soon got requests to add price trackers for the rest of Apple's line of computers. This soon led to the formation of Mac Prices, where we devote an entire website to Mac price tracking.
Mac Prices was formerly known as MacPrices.com. As part of a legal agreement with Apple, we relinquished the domain www.macprices.com in 2007.

Our classifieds are a popular alternative to auction houses such as eBay and Yahoo, and our price trackers will give you an accurate price on a new Macintosh from many Apple Authorized Resellers. Charles W. Moore is one of the most respected and prolific freelance writers in the Macintosh industry. He has written for numerous Mac-related websites since 1998. In non-Mac journalism, he has four syndicated newspaper columns in Canada and has written for several boating magazines.
